Based in the village of Barnharhm in Lampang Province of Northern Thailand, and supported in conjunction with Friend to Friends Australia, this project is focused on the building of a vocational college to provide a base for the training of local people in work and business skills to help build their economic and personal capacity. The area is remote (Hills Tribe area) and agriculturally based. Household incomes are low and employment opportunities are few. The purpose of the centre is to provide students with a range of skills to improve their ability to generate income through work, agriculture or micro business. The centre will also be a base for a range of health and community activities and will provide some accommodation for students travelling long distances for training.
